Engraving
AKA - How to make the prom queen into a super model...
I start with either nickel silver or 416 stainless steel
on my bolsters. I like long bolsters for engraving.
In my opinion, brass is too soft to hold the detail.

Finish the knife with a high polish. Here is the key...
are you ready? Take it to an accomplished engraver.
Personally, I only use Russ Zima of Denver.

Hand e ngraving is not inexpensive. However, it's like
putting very nice wheels on your tricked out SUV.
You can get by without it, or go cheaper (laser or
machine...yuck!) but then why bother.
There is a link to Russ's web site on my resources
page. You don't need to be a knife maker to use
Russ. He will work with collectors and he is an
all around great individual.
